About This Plant

  • Plant: Anthurium '(Papi x Michelle Zara) x Red Phantom', a velvety hybrid with dark, richly textured foliage and reddish new growth.
  • Origin: Cultivated hybrid
  • Parentage: (Papi × Michelle Zara) × Red Phantom

Plant Care

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Water: Water when the top inch of mix is dry, and never let the roots sit in water.
  • Soil: Very chunky, airy aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite and charcoal.
  • Humidity: Prefers 60–80% humidity, and does best with steady moisture in the air.
  • Temperature: 65–85°F. Keep above 60°F.
  • Feeding: Feed with a balanced fertilizer at quarter to half strength every 2–4 weeks in the growing season.
  • Note: Velvety leaves resent being wet, so water the soil rather than the foliage.

Care

Every plant has its own needs: light, water, soil, humidity, temperature and feeding. Not sure? Ask us. We want your plant to thrive as much as you do.

When it arrives, keep it in bright, indirect light, hold off on repotting and fertilizing for 1–2 weeks and water only if the soil is dry. Full guide on our Keeping the Flame page.
