About This Plant

  • Plant: Alocasia baginda 'Dragon Scale' Albo, thick textured leaves with a scale-like pattern and white (albo) variegation.
  • Origin: Alocasia baginda is native to Borneo. This is a cultivated variegated form.

Plant Care

  • Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which burns the leaves.
  • Water: Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Water when the top inch is dry.
  • Soil: A chunky, fast-draining aroid mix (bark, perlite, coco coir).
  • Humidity: 60% or higher.
  • Temperature: 65–85°F. Keep it away from cold drafts and anything below 60°F.
  • Feeding: Diluted balanced fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during active growth.
  • Note: It may drop leaves or go dormant after shipping or in cooler months. The corms will regrow, so keep watering lightly.

Care

Every plant has its own needs: light, water, soil, humidity, temperature and feeding. Not sure? Ask us. We want your plant to thrive as much as you do.

When it arrives, keep it in bright, indirect light, hold off on repotting and fertilizing for 1–2 weeks and water only if the soil is dry. Full guide on our Keeping the Flame page.
