About This Plant
- Plant: Alocasia 'Black Velvet Pink', a compact plant with dark, velvety leaves, silver-white veining and pink-toned stems.
- Origin: Cultivated selection
Plant Care
- Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the velvety leaves.
- Water: Water when the top inch of mix is dry; keep lightly moist but never soggy.
- Soil: Light, airy, well-draining mix with bark, perlite and coco coir.
- Humidity: Thrives at 60%+ humidity; dry air invites spider mites.
- Temperature: 65–85°F. Keep above 60°F.
- Feeding: Feed every 3–4 weeks in the growing season with diluted balanced fertilizer.
- Note: Avoid wetting the leaves heavily and allow growth to slow in winter; this is normal.

Care
Every plant has its own needs: light, water, soil, humidity, temperature and feeding. Not sure? Ask us. We want your plant to thrive as much as you do.
When it arrives, keep it in bright, indirect light, hold off on repotting and fertilizing for 1–2 weeks and water only if the soil is dry. Full guide on our Keeping the Flame page.
