Collection: Reverted

🌿 What is a Reverted Plant?

When a variegated plant β€” one with multicolored or patterned leaves β€” loses its variegation and returns to solid green growth, this is called a reversion. A reverted plant is still the same plant genetically, but it has shifted back to a more basic, stable leaf form.

This often happens because the solid green parts of a plant are better at photosynthesis, so the plant "chooses" the more efficient leaf form to survive β€” especially in lower light conditions or stressful environments.

🌱 Why It Matters:

  • Reverted plants grow faster because they photosynthesize more efficiently.

  • They are not damaged or defective β€” they're simply displaying a more stable form.

  • If you're trying to preserve the variegation, it's best to prune off reverted growth.

  • If you're happy with solid green growth, enjoy β€” it’s still a beautiful, healthy plant!
